Woodcote House School is a family run school with a cheerful atmosphere, lovely grounds and small classes. The area is countrified, though easily accessible from London, Heathrow and Gatwick.
Entrance is by interview and a non-competitive test. Boys are, of course, treated as individuals, and are expected to work as hard as they can. The junior forms are taught in their own wing; the senior forms are streamed. Scholarships are won regularly, and there is also extra help available for those who encounter difficulties.
Acting, art and music are considered important, as are reading, good manners and fun. All the usual games are played to a high standard, and there are tennis courts, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, a 9 hole golf course and shooting range in the grounds. A recent development programme has led to the construction of new Changing Rooms, a new Art and Music Block, an Astroturf pitch for hockey and three tennis courts, and a new Science Laboratory and Computer Room.
